Facility
We are proud to provide a state-of-the-art facility for the highest quality dental care available. It is one of our top priorities to protect the well-being of our valued patients. For this reason, our office meets and surpasses all OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and CDC (Center for Disease Control) standards. We are confident that you will feel right at home in our office as we welcome all patients as if they were family.

Appointments
If you would like to make an appointment, please contact our office by phone or email. Our office facilitates communications and emergency calls and appointments are available and welcome, especially for new patients seeking help. 

 

Financial
We will be more than happy to submit all insurance forms for you and help you recover the most from your benefits. We will do everything we can to help you afford the treatment you need and want. For patients who require major work, a complete payment plan is designed with an appropriate payment schedule. Forms of payment accepted by the office are check, cash, or any major credit card.

Cancellation

If you are unable to keep an appointment, we ask that you kindly provide us with at least 24 hours notice. We ask for this advance notice so that we can offer this appointment to another patient. A fee may be charged if a patient does not show up for an appointment without sufficient notice.

Southport Smiles Dentistry opened in 1990 and has been in its current location for over 20 years. Our office is in a beautiful Victorian-era home with a distinct New England vibe. We are right off I-95 at exit 19 and just steps away from the Southport Metro North Station.

Our Doctors

Alvyn S. Yeoh, DDS

Dr. Alvyn Yeoh has been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry in Southport, CT since 2012. Dr. Yeoh completed his undergraduate and dental education in a combined six year accelerated dentistry program from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. He then underwent a General Practice Residency at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. Moreover, he was selected for a Chief Year of General Practice Residency at SBH Medical Center located in the Bronx, NY.

While maintaining a private practice in Southport, CT, Dr. Yeoh is also an assistant clinical attending at SBH Medical Center Department of Dentistry. In this position, he helps train newly graduated dental residents in all aspects of dentistry in a hospital setting. He also maintains membership in the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Society, and the Bridgeport Dental Society.

Dr. Yeoh was born in Acton, Massachusetts. Due to familial commitments, he has lived in San Francisco, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. Dr. Yeoh currently resides in the Upper East Side of Manhattan with his wife and four-year-old daughter. When not involved with dentistry, he can be found rooting for the Yankees at the Stadium.


Soon Kwon, D.M.D.

Dr. Soon "Kat" Kwon is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist. Dr. Kat completed her undergraduate education at the University of Georgia, where she earned a B.S. in Biology with Honors. After graduating, she earned a D.M.D. degree at the Dental College of Georgia and continued onto complete a dental specialty in Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Center.

Currently, Dr. Kat is an Associate Director in Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry at BronxCare Hospital System. Dr. Kat has participated in dental mission trips to Mexico, Bulgaria, and Nicaragua. She maintains active memberships in American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, and Bronx County Dental Society. She is also a Fellow of American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (FAAPD).

Dr. Kat currently lives in the Upper East Side with her husband and 4-year-old daughter. Her goal is to treat all patients as her own and to foster a positive and fun experience for her patients.


Jack T. Newton, D.M.D.

Dr. Jack Newton is proficient in all aspects of general dentistry. Dr. Newton completed his undergraduate education at the University of Delaware, where he earned a B.S. in Kinesiology and Applied Physiology and served as president of the rugby club.

Dr. Newton received his D.M.D. from the Boston University School of Dental Medicine graduating Magna Cum Laude. He completed his residency in General Practice Dentistry at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, N.Y, where he was named resident of the year.

Dr. Newton maintains active memberships in the American Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Newton grew up in Rye, New York and currently lives in Stamford. In addition to dentistry, he enjoys attempting golf and cheering for the NY Yankees, Rangers and Giants.
